Smarter economic area with a higher quality of living
Situated in the best location between Hamburg and Copenhagen, the HanseBelt region combines two of the smartest metropolises in Northern Europe. With the Hanseatic city of Lübeck at the centre, it is the natural gateway to the growth markets of the Baltic Sea region, as well as offering great access to the world markets due to it being part of the metropolitan region of Hamburg. In addition, it will continue to gain in significance as North Germany’s central transport hub – through new routes such as the A20 and the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link. This will allow neighbouring metropolises to move even closer to a region where strong economic sectors and a high quality of life are accompanied by low property prices and living costs. Both businesses and people are characterised by the region’s proximity to the sea: Hanseatic virtues and a tendency to call a spade a spade are as much a part of the good atmosphere here as cosmopolitanism, a courage tochange and desire for tomorrow.
