HanseBelt is an initiative of 25 captains of leading enterprises in the region between the Hanseatic city of Hamburg and the Fehmarnbelt. The planned fixed Fehmarnbelt link puts our region in an ongoing situation of upheaval. We want to make this development fruitful for us and to take an active part in shaping it.
Our focus is on the economic development of the HanseBelt. We believe we can make a difference together, and we see the great potential of our region. On the one hand, we’re situated exactly at the intersection between Hamburg and the Øresund region – both economic centres with excellent growth potential. On the other hand, our region assumes a central function on the European north-east corridor between Western Europe and the Baltic area.
We see ourselves as a dynamic region, where enterprises can profit doubly from the economic dynamic, through innovative project work in various areas. We are active in the following areas:
One of our projects, for example, is the HanseBelt University. This collective term refers to the platform for developing closer academic ties between universities in Hamburg, the HanseBelt and the Øresund region.
It is our goal to inspire supporters from the whole Baltic region and to motivate them to take part. We’d like to win you, as an entrepreneur, policymaker and important opinion maker, for our cause.
